Booking tickets online

Booking online offers many benefits: you can make reservations at any time that suits you and there are no booking fees. Payments can be made quickly and safely when using iDEAL or credit card (MasterCard and VISA).

Lowest fares

Take advantage of NS Hispeed's travel deals with lowest fares. It is possible to purchase international tickets up till three months before departures. Limited numbers of seats are available at each price level, so book early to get the cheapest fare. Low fares are only valid on the train you've booked, no refunds, limited or no change of travel plans allowed. Of course it is possible to buy an attractively priced train ticket with a greater measure of flexibility.

Collecting your online ticket

1. The ticket collection machine

At the large NS stations (Schiphol, Utrecht Central, Amsterdam Central, The Hague Central, Rotterdam Central, Breda and Arnhem) you will find a ticket collection machine where you can collect the tickets you reserved online.
Please note: the machines are located in the Tickets & Service offices and are therefore only accessible during offices' opening hours. The ticket collection machine at Schiphol is located in the NS Hispeed Lounge which can be found across from the HEMA in Arrival Hall 4 (PDF: floor plan Schiphol).

There are also ticket collection machines at the following Belgium stations: Brussels South/Midi, Brussels Central, Antwerp Central and Liège-Guillemins.

2. Print your own ticket at home

Tickets to over 400 destinations can be bought online and most of these tickets can be printed at home:

• Antwerp, Brussels and Paris with Thalys
  (with the exceptions of the Hi-Life fares)
• all online destinations in Germany
• all online destinations in Belgium
• all online destinations with Eurostar
• all online destinations with Fyra

This is very useful if you want to depart today or tomorrow from any station in the Netherlands. Please note: during ticket control you will be asked for identification.

3. Have your ticket sent to your home

If you still have sufficient time to do so, you may opt to have your ticket(s) sent to you. Any address in the Netherlands may be used for this purpose. This means you do not even have to leave your house!

Combining international trains

Do you want to go to Germany, England, Belgium or France? Please remember that for many of these international journeys you may make an online reservation. And that you may even opt for a combination of international trains, such as Thalys, Fyra, ICE International, Eurostar and TGV.

Please note: There is a surcharge for Fyra. You can buy the supplement ticket at the yellow self-service ticket machines at the stations. You can tell Fyra trains by their exterior, which is pink, purple and white and the words 'Fyra' printed on the side.

No booking fees!

Making an online reservation for international trips is beneficial – especially financially. There are no booking fees for international train tickets bought online.

Safe payment

Online payments can be made two ways: by using iDEAL (free), the Dutch standard for internet payments, or by using credit card: MasterCard or VISA (€2,50). Either method is safe, easy and quick.

Personal profile

If you're planning on making regular online ticket purchases, it is advisable to create your own personal profile. When you make your first online reservation, you can save your personal details in your profile. The next time you purchase a ticket online all your details will already be filled in, and you go on to purchasing your ticket which will save you time.
