Brussels Charleroi Airport (Aéroport de Charleroi Bruxelles-Sud) is a smaller airport than Zaventem and located to the north of the industrial city of Charleroi and 46 km from Brussels. Various low-cost airlines use this airport for departures to popular holiday destinations.
How to travel to Brussels South Charleroi Airport
Via Brussels Zuid/Midi
To reach Brussels South Charleroi Airport you can travel in comfort with Thalys (from € 29 enkele reis) or with regular trains to Brussel-Zuid/Midi (maximum € 36 one way 2nd class)*. From here RyanAir buses depart that connect seamlessly to the scheduled flights. Travel time from Brussels Zuid/Midi is approximately 50 minutes.
Via Charleroi-Sud station
It is also possible to take the train to Charleroi-Sud station (maximum € 48 one way 2nd class**) and to travel from there with bus A to the airport. This bus departs twice an hour and takes 15 minutes. You can purchase your bus ticket on the bus for a small sum.
A train ticket to Charleroi Sud can be purchased directly on the site or at a ticket machine.
