This futuristic city park was designed in 1986 by the architect Bernard Tschumi and, amongst other things, has an enormous playground based on the themes of science and industry. Also visit the ‘Explora’ exhibition in La Cité and discover that the quickest way is not always a straight line - or watch a film on the gigantic screen in the glittering sphere of La Géode. Music lovers use the bridge to cross to the Cité de la Musique. On this side of the park, you will also find the Grande Halle - where circus performances regularly take place - and Le Zenith - where various kinds of concerts are held. In the summer there's a free open air movie theatre!

Between 1859 and 1969, the railway line that connects the stations Bastille and Vincennes ran through this park. In 1996, the route was transformed into a ‘Promenade Plantée’: a park with a length of 4,5 km. Use the stairs at the beginning of the street and walk through the 64 red brick vaults. In the carefully renovated vaults you will find nice studios and shops. Have a look at VIA, at number 29-37 for the very latest in modern design.
