Enjoy yourself in the Palmengarten

Skating on Tuesday evening

A real recommendation for sport-loving visitors: Tuesday Night Skating Frankfurt takes place in the city from April until October. Whether good or bad weather – every Tuesday evening at 20.30 hrs about a thousand skaters set off for a journey through the city. The free skating trip of 25 to 35 kilometres takes about 2.5 hours.

In the footsteps of Johann Wolfgang Goethe

During the day, the banks of the Main are a place for sun worshippers and sport lovers. In the evenings, it is a popular location to host events and everyone can enjoy the fantastic view of the beautiful villas and skyline. The “Goethe-walk” takes you past numerous places in the city which were of importance to Goethe’s life. One of these places is the cafe-restaurant Gerbermühle. The lady who used to live in the former residence, Marianne von Willemer, inspired Goethe to create his love poem Ginkgo Biloba.
