OV Guide Pass passengers with impaired mobility

Travelling with a guide pass

Passengers with impaired mobility who want to travel by train, can request an OV Guide Pass from:

Depending on the country involved when travelling (see table), a guide is allowed to travel free of charge, while the impaired person travels with a ‘normal’ rail pass* (full fare, RailPlus, Benelux Youth, FIP and the like).
* Special offer fares, passes (InterRail), free tickets or proof of identity/rail passes for railways staff are excluded from this.

Special conditions:

  • The rail pass for the guide should be purchased in the country where the Guide Pass was issued.
  • The guide and the passenger who requires a guide should travel together in the same class.
  • The stations of arrival and departure should be the same on both rail passes.
  • The handicapped passenger should be able to show the guide pass during ticket control.
